(50.190.122.202) | It's been a while since I've checked up on the WrestleMen Youtube clips. Today I discovered that the clip from the homophobia segment in my STRONGHOLD: In The Grip of Wrestling documentary has received 649,485 views. That should tell you something. Wow, well over half a million views. 579 thumbs up and 142 thumbs down...which is to be expected knowing all the homophobia still out there.
That segment in the documentary followed the segment on homoeroticism of wrestling in art, film, and real life. The two go hand in hand. What is homoerotic to one can be viewed in a homophobic way by another. My belief is that if someone makes a homophobic comment about something, they are seeing and internally "feeling" the homoeroticism of it. And it makes them uncomfortable. So they express their fear in a negative way.
I hope you take time to watch the entire STRONGHOLD film. It took me five years to produce, and it covers all forms of wrestling. Here is the link to watch it online.
